Postcode Local Trust is a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. Our project has received £1,817 from the Trust to install two accessible raised beds, water butts, and to purchase tools and seeds. Go to or to find out more information.

'Bags of Help offers community groups and projects across the UK a share of revenue generated from the 5p charge levied on single-use carrier bags. Our project has received £2,000 from the scheme to install wheelchair accessible paths, composting areas, and to help with rubbish clearance. Go to for more information on this scheme.

Sea Mills Community Garden

  • 'Our patch is behind the garages above Sylvan Way, very near the Sylvan Way/Shirehampton Road traffic lights. We are creating a garden for growing food, with a large communal area with easy access raised beds and an orchard, small individual plots and a nature area.
  • We run regular group gardening sessions and all who volunteer on the communal patch will share in our produce. We are working the Cafe on the Square to provide delicious cake ingredients for cake ingredients and leafy greens for salads. We share the plot with urban wildlife, and want to promote their wellbeing as much as we can through making our gardening 'wildlife friendly' and keeping an area just for them.
  • We always welcome new volunteers, and we try to ensure there are tasks to suit all abilities.
  • Contact Maria on if you would like to get involved.
